I have some principals that I’m studying heavily. They are a bit of an eclectic mix. I want to both practice them for myself, and I desire to not enable those that seem to ardently disagree with these principals.
a) jian-ai (Chinese): That is, universal love. Concern for everybody, love your enemy, honor the stranger.
b) Compassion (Universal golden rule)
c) Zanna (Quran): “religious orthodoxy is self-indulgent guesswork about matters that nobody can be truly certain about one way or another, but which makes people quarrelsome and stupidly sectarian ;-)”
I cannot waste precious time any longer with the “quarrelsome,” as I’ve come to realize this is a state that separates one from the divine. I never thought I’d see anything in those terms, or even understand them, but I do now.
